FAQs
Is this process safe?
Yes. Going overseas for treatment is just as safe as it is if you were to go to your local doctor or hospital. The only difference is your travel. We offer you the best health-care providers possible, at state of the art facilities. Provided that you’ve done your research, picked a good surgeon, hospital and accommodations (we take care of all this for you) – you will be fine. You will have an English speaking person to assist you every step of the way, from picking you up at the airport overseas, during your medical procedure and until you return home.
What procedures are available?
Every and anything you can think of. As a matter of fact, our partner hospitals have procedures that are not available elsewhere. Cosmetic, Dental, Orthopedic, Cardiovascular, Cancer Treatment, Sports Injury Treatment, Reproductive Therapy – our partners have what you need. Please note that cheaper does not always mean better, and that certain destinations are better at certain procedures than others – but that’s what we’re here for, to steer you in the right direction.
What does it cost?
We can provide you savings up to 90%! With travel and accommodations you can still save up to 80 – 85%. Our services are FREE – we are paid by our partner hospitals. The quote we will provide you with will be an all-inclusive one, which will include transportation, case management, the cost of the medical procedure, medicines, hospitalization and follow-up care costs. Please note that tourism costs are not included, but we can provide these services for you if you request it.
Why is medical care so much cheaper overseas than here in the USA?
There are a number of reasons. For one the cost of living overseas is much lower. Secondly a favorable exchange rate can result in further cost savings. Most importantly, Doctors and hospitals overseas have lower operating costs – the doctors do not have to carry high malpractice insurance rates (4 times less than American doctors!), medications are cheaper, staff salaries are cheaper.
Are the services you provide hurting the American Health-care System?
No. We offer viable alternatives for the un-insured and self insured, people who may be forced to choose between suffering with a serious health problem or going bankrupt. Unfortunately most people choose to live with the problem, which can ultimately result in death.
What is the quality of care like?
Many of the doctors in our network are board certified in the U.S. and U.K. and have trained in top medical programs and practiced medicine in those countries. Our member hospitals are state of the art facilities with the most up to date equipment. The quality of care you will receive is equal and in most cases will surpass medical care in the U.S. Within our network, there is a higher ratio of doctors per patient, as opposed to here in the U.S. where the ratio of nurses to patient is much higher. This means that you have much more face time with your Doctor. You will also have a Case Manager available 24/7 to assist you. We will also provide you with the complete details of your overseas doctor, including education, experience and certification along with a photo. We can also arrange for a teleconference with your overseas doctor if you like.
What happens if something goes wrong?
As with all medical procedures, there is the possibility that your outcome may not be optimal. However, the hospitals in our network have invested millions of dollars to provide world-class health care to international patients. They have taken every precaution to ensure your safety and satisfaction. These hospitals cannot afford the negative publicity associated with dissatisfied international patients. You should be aware that in the case of a negative outcome, legal recourse overseas will not be as straightforward as it would be in the U.S. and might be substantially limited even in the event that malpractice could be proven. If your primary concern is litigation in the event that your medical procedure does not have the outcome you expect, then this may not be the service for you.
Will the medical and tourism personnel I deal with overseas be able to speak English?
Yes. We will ensure that English-speaking people are available to you.
Where will I stay?
We will tailor your stay to fit your needs and budget. The hospitals in our network also offer accommodations both within the hospital and at nearby luxurious hotels.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, and this is highly recommended. The healing process is partly an emotional one, and it always helps to have a loved one or friend with you – especially in a foreign country. In some cases we might even be able to provide you with a medically trained, English speaking escort.
What about follow-up care when I return to my destination?
You should be prepared to extend your stay overseas if recommended by your overseas doctor – because not everyone heals at the same rate. The risk of complications after your medical procedure will be substantially increased if you do not have medical clearance from your overseas doctor to travel. We can provide you with an average estimate of how much time you should allow for based on your medical procedure. When you return, we can arrange for you to receive follow-up care with a local physician or specialist of your choosing. We encourage you to keep your local primary care physician abreast of all your medical care overseas, including a follow up visit with them upon your return. Your overseas doctor will also be available to you by phone/email.Is any of my money refundable?
Yes, most of your money will be refundable prior to undergoing surgery – less any fees or services such as postage/FedEx, passport/visa, digitizing your medical records, etc.
